A proposal made for NatGeo following the discovery of Lady Sediba its a diorama arrangement where the surrounding rooms progress from dark to light from historic to present.
The Tree that sits a top the Interpretive center directs visitors, in the same way the discoveries were originally made years ago, Whilst the rooms inside progressively get lighter simulating entering a cave and then rising through it, experiencing a sunrise of sorts.
Moving from early discoveries to first glimpse, children are encouraged to enter through a small tunnel, increasing enjoyment for young visitors as well as simulating the entrance made in to the original cave.
Each room caters for at least 11 people and the window that faces the center exhibit is sized and orientated at specific views of the diorama, rooms materiality progressively change from raw materials such as rammed earth and timber to concrete and steel simulating the progression of time and the transition into the modern times and relevant discoveries made in the present time.
