114 Dennis Road, Sandton. An office within a residential neighbourhood was the perfect candidate for refurbishment into upmarket residential apartments a stones throw away from Sandton CBD.
Background
This existing office consisted of two wings with internal courtyards (figure eighth), the floor plate takes advantage of this with internal facing units that open onto the landscaped courtyards, the remainder (Majority) of the units were placed around the exterior perimeter of the buildings facing the surrounding gardens.
An extra floor of apartments was added to the existing roof level which fully utilize the amazing view and newly added rooftop bar/recreational space.
Responsibilities
- Meeting with Clients and development manager to understand the needs and translating their requirements into various design options that work within the existing shell of the building.
- Detailed measuring and redrawing the existing building.
- Preparation of council submission plans and construction documentation.
- Construction administration and regular site inspections, answering RFI’s, preparing revisions within strict project timelines.
